My interest in analogue tape recording technology led me to field recordings. The mix tape had always fascinated me, tracks take on different form and meaning dependent on where they sit in the playlist. I started making mix tapes of random manipulated sounds and obscure found recordings. As a child we would send cassette letters because it was cheaper than long distance phone calls. I recently began sending cassettes to friends, some had the means to listen to them and some not, they had to seek out the hardware in order to decipher the information of this old technology.
